The Dentdale Run
The 2026 Dentdale Run will take place on Saturday 14th March.
This scenic road race in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales helps to raise much needed funds for Dent Church of England Primary School - Last year’s event generated £3,500 for the school.
The course is challenging with many runners using it as a warm-up for the London Marathon.
There are two distances to choose from:
14.2 miles
The Dentdale 14.2m route heads out from Dent village towards Sedbergh before turning back towards Dent at Rash Bridge. The route returns towards Dent and along the valley towards Cowgill before turning back towards Dent at Ewegales with the finish in the centre of the village.
7.9 miles
The Dentdale 7.9m route covers the first half of the course as above before turning back into the village with the finish in the centre of the village.

Entry for the 2026 Dentdale Run event is now open via the RaceBest website.

Parking
Dent village is a small place, and we do our best to ensure that we get everyone in as efficiently and safely as possible.
We advise everyone to arrive in plenty of time at the village and to follow the instructions of our parking marshals to ensure that you get parked safely.
For your own safety and that of all our runners, please do not park on the roadside anywhere on the course.
Spectators
Spectators are always welcome at the Dentdale Run, in fact the more the merrier.
There are some great locations for spectating and cheering on the runners.
We ask spectators to ensure they do not do anything to endanger the safety of themselves, the runners, the volunteers helping with the race or anyone else using the roads.
